Highlights~

Well..I finally took the plunge to get my hair highlighted again! I can't believe it hasn't been bleached in 4 years! Simply incredible. Who knew I could even wait that long! I really like it--it's new for me since my last color was dark brunette. Before that I had jet black hair. I knew it was time for a change and I was ready for a summer look. This should work just fine. :) It will take a little getting use to of course. I have my friend, Teresa to thank for the highlighting today. She did a fabulous job!

Bride Wars & vineyard dreams..

Today I...
  • slept in late
  • drank only 1 cup of coffee (believe it or not!)
  • went to class for a review session
  • did some laundry (crap, I just remembered it's still in the dryer)
  • picked up my ring from Tiffany & Co. (it was getting cleaned)
  • shopped @ Anthropologie & Forever 21
  • took Lizzie to EZ's for dinner, picked up a prescription at HEB, and rented "Bride Wars"
  • and now..blogging and late night studying...
Bride WarsMy sister Lizzie and I rented "Bride Wars" this evening. We were majorly in need of a mindless chick flick and some chocolate to go along with it. ;-) It was actually pretty cute and some parts were just hilarious! Sometimes I wish I still had a girl best friend who I knew since I was little. I always notice that in movies and it makes me a tad envious.

Here are some ridiculously irresistible things that I do not need :)

Mustard Bag
Gray Dress

And I'm thinking about.....
visiting a vineyard after finals are over. I've been wanting to do that forever. I'm such a wine nut! Isn't this enchanting?

Fall Creek Vineyards

That's all for tonight. Going to get back to studying like a freak for the next few hours before bedtime. Night!

rainy with a chance of birthday candles..

So I had this dream a few weeks ago that it rained birthday candles. Since it's one of the coolest dreams I have ever had, I thought I would most certainly HAVE to recreate it in a photograph. ;) Wouldn't it be cool if it came true?

This is a rather short post this evening. I'm wrapping up my classes this week and studying like a mad woman for my finals. Craziness for sure! Hope it's not too stressful of a week...xoxo!

♥ Scrap-booking & 7 Things I Love Sunday!

It felt SO good to dive into a little overdue scrap-booking today. Ahh, so therapeutic and relaxing! I've been meaning to do this for some time now, but finding time is always the trick. This semester has given me quite a handful of school work to deal with..can't wait for it to be over! Where is summer vacation already? :-D
Here is a photo of my RVA favorite things kit that I love..and have finally started on today! =) Hope to make some progress little by little on it throughout the week. 7 THINGS I LOVE SUNDAY!~

1. JedRoot.com
Mariano Vivanco
(LOOOVE these two images because they remind me of Jem from the 80's! I want to recreate it so badly!)
2. secret envelopes
(from The Sweetie Pie Press)

3. my cousin Charlie ♥
(he's an actor in Cali..I miss him so much)
4. Her Happy Dreams print by Rachel Denbow

5. Tom's Shoes
(I didn't know about this until a few days ago. Yes, I know..I need to get with the program! What a wonderful thing--buy one pair of shoes and one pair goes to a child in need. I'm all for it!)
6. hearts bag by the fabulous Marc Jacobs
(hands down my favorite designer. period.) 7. owl mobile
I'm looking forward to another exciting & very busy week! My finals are approaching so I'm hitting the books hard. Lots of coffee should find me. :)~

Earth-friendly

Earth
We had the pleasure of watching Disney's new movie, Earth this evening. An incredibly remarkable movie I must say! It's visual beauty is just overwhelming..

Also, Lewis and I bought Little Big Planet last night for our PS3. Oh so cute and a lot of fun! It's going to be my new game obsession for awhile, I can already tell. The graphics are adorable and you get to collect stickers and stick them wherever you please. Ahhh, it's a riot! I just wish the PS3 had a little printer so it could shoot out actual stickers for me. Ha.

Peche, Halcyon, & Anthropologie Adventures

What an exquisite Friday afternoon with Vanessa! After discovering that Imperia was closed for lunch, we found a place called Peche. That was pretty much the only place with their doors open around noon, believe it or not. Crazy! Regardless, it was honestly the BEST Monte Cristo sandwich I've ever devoured in my life. Wow, I still cannot stop thinking about it! I also tried a 25 cent Lemoncello drink, which was quite delicious as well. Afterward we hit Halcyon for our java fix, and in saving the best for last..Anthropologie. :)Such a cute idea serving animal crackers with cappuccino! Ahh..I love it.

Zooey Deschanel is one awesome lady! This is one of my favorite photos of her.

Earth Day

Happy Earth Day!I had a great day today! Spent the day in Austin with my sweetheart and had a nice brunch at Einstein's (I love their bagel sandwiches and coffee!!). ♥
I drove back this evening to discover that my package had arrived from Dallas. I ordered the cutest dog bag from my uncle who has started his own online business. I'm really excited for him and very happy to support! :) Tomorrow will be a busy day with work in the morning (teaching kids how to play chess), an appointment with my advisor @ school (hopefully to fix my registration issue), afternoon classes, and heading back to Austin. Hope to squeeze in an oil change if I get the chance. Eek..I'm getting bad about doing those on time.

Ladytron~

Wonderful concert this evening! I was so happy to finally get to see them live--it was such a treat! Here are some photos I was able to snap with my point and shoot. Apparently they ban SLR cameras unless you get special permission. Lame..
Best part...I got to keep their set list because I stayed til the end while the Stubb's crew was cleaning up. I yelled for this sheet like a nerd! :-) It was worth it! Yay!

I would say swell for a Monday.

I had a pretty swell day today! Slept in late (much needed), drove back from Austin, made it to my night class this evening, got some laundry done, studied for my math test, and managed a few cups of coffee in between. :-)

On the coffee note, I really wish it was possible to just get espresso given right through the veins! Like an injection through the drive-thru! I don't think it's possible and it would never happen but WOW..wouldn't it be cool?

Here are some shots from my shoot with Shawn K:

P.S.> I'm still head over heels in love with Javier Bardem.....oh my lord..

And, this photo of him & Scarlett in Vanity Fair is just beautiful!

honey~ness!

In raising awareness for the plight of the honey bees this month, Anthropologie is decorating each of their stores with different honey installations. The photo above is from the store in San Antonio @ La Cantera. I was told that the employees there had made their window display with wax and tissue paper. Very cool! The photo below is one from the Austin store. Various honey jars are added to a scene of hives and flowers. Also, too cool! This cause is so inspiring--I've already purchased a few honey bee items myself. I'm going to try and head back to the Austin store on Wednesday to celebrate Earth Day.
